Celebrating RIMS Month!
In This Issue
April is Here!
April is Records Management Month and was first observed in 1995 as National Records and Information Management Day, through the efforts of members of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA). Over time, the observance grew to a week in 1997, and a month in 2002, and is now celebrated internationally.
Calling All Departmental Records Management Contacts (DRMCs)
RIMS is celebrating Records Management Month with a DRMC refresher training event that includes new guides, tools, and processes. If you are your department or unit’s Records Management Contact, this is a highly recommended refresher to keep current with RIMS tools and guidance. If you received your DRMC records management training more than 2 years ago, you’ll want to attend this training to be up to date.
The live training event will be held virtually on April 15th from 2pm-3pm. A hosted viewing of the recorded training will be on April 22nd from 10am-11am with the RIMS team on hand to answer any questions you may have. You can sign up for the training on UTLearn using the link provided on our April Event Page.
DRMC Spring Cleaning
University Records Management requires that each department designates a records management contact (DRMC). Do you know who your DRMC is? RIMS has created a list of DRMCs for you to see who is listed as your department or unit’s DRMC. No DRMC? Incorrect DRMC? Need to list yourself as the DRMC? Use the new DRMC OHS Update Request Form!
